After the Storm

This is just one of many photos taken of the tornadoes that ripped through the southeast on April 27, 2011.  My state of Alabama, was hit extremely hard.  There are so many that lost their lives, loved ones, possessions and their homes.  While some of these place were so heavily populated and the damage is at times seemingly unbearable, there are still so many smaller towns and farm lands that have been effected as well. 
Story after story we here of the survival testimonies and then we here of those that did not make it.  Babies ripped from their mother's arms.  Children left orphaned.  Parents now having to deal with the death of their children way before their time.  Families that are left homeless and everyone trying to pick up the pieces left behind.

  It's like an emotional roller coaster each time we see people that have lost so much. We live in an imperfect world and God never promised us that we would not have trials and tribulations.  However, He did promise that He would be there through it all. It's so hard to remember that when your going through something, but it's the one thing that will keep you going and keep you fighting. He said He would be with us in times of trouble.  He is our Hope, Strength and Peace.

Where Do You Go First.........

At the first sign that you are nearing, the excitement begins to build.  The children are getting giddy.  Even as an adult, butterflies fluttering in my tummy.  And then you see it . . .  the entrance to Walt Disney World!  I can't wait to put my luggage down and hit the parks!  And what is the first park on the agenda?!  Well, of course, Magic Kingdom!  Upon entering the gate, none of us, including Dad, can wipe the smiles off our faces.  And I have been known to drop a tear or two.  ;-)  As we make our way down Main Street straight to the Castle, we have to stop for photos with Disney's Photopass.  Because we have to capture the first emotions on the children's faces as we draw near the castle. . .    We have arrived!  Standing still, in the heart of Disney, for what seems like an eternity, taking it all in.  It is truly Magical!  As we stand there, I am thinking to myself, I never want to leave this place!   Then I feel a tug at my shirt.  Standing still is NOW over!  "Momma I wanna ride Dumbo!"  "Oooooo!  Can I have a balloon?"  "One with a light inside!"  "Look over there!  Its Mickey!"   . . . . And it doesn't stop the whole trip.  And every time they are surprised and in awe as if they have never seen fireworks and Tinker Bell do what she does best.  There faces lit up with pure joy, the excitement in there voices, and the twinkle in their eyes; that is why we LOVE Disney.  And that is why we are planning the next trip before we ever leave the park.
